Joining the Academy
Membership in the Academy
Our Mission
The AFLP is a nonprofit academic association that has been created as a forum for individuals and institutions involved in teaching and scholarship in food law and policy. The purpose of the Academy is to stimulate intellectual discourse, encourage scholarship, enhance teaching, support student interest, and otherwise to promote the academic field of food law and policy. The Academy has federal tax exempt status under §501(c)(3) of the U.S. Code.
Membership Eligibility
Anyone engaged in Food Law & Policy scholarship or teaching on a professional level and who shares our goals is welcome to become a member of the Academy.
Students are encouraged to join the Food Law Student Network.
How to Join
The COVID pandemic caused the Academy to pause its activities. We are now returning to active status and reorganizing to better serve our members.
Paid memberships have been suspended for the 2022-23 academic year, with free memberships extended to those eligible to join. All past members are automatically extended. New members can submit the form below in order to join.
